United Way of Dodge County supports the local food shelf, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Healthy Smiles, NAMI, Faith in Action, the Women’s Shelter, and many more. Many of our nonprofit partners have seen an increase in demand for their services over the past year. Our goal is to be a stable income source for local programs so the nonprofits can focus on people and services. In 2021, nonprofit partners asked United Way of Dodge County for $83,500. We were able to grant seven nonprofits the full amount requested and allocated over $65,000.

United Way of Dodge County’s 2022 goal is to raise enough to meet the nonprofit’s requests. To do this, they need to raise at least $50,000 from the community.

We appreciate the support so far. We have raised over $17,000 this past month with our community giving drive. Our goal is to raise at least another $30,000 by the end of December to meet the increased ask from our local nonprofit partners. Ninety-one percent of every dollar given goes directly to support local infinitives. The other nine percent is spent on basic operating needs such as accounting, insurance, and fundraising.

We are supported solely by community donations, and the majority of these funds come from this annual fundraising campaign. Every January, the board members meet to review fundraising results, discuss community needs, and determine how the money is allocated. All approved grantees must adhere to the United Way of Dodge County application guidelines and demonstrate how they help Dodge County community members. Board members go through a detailed evaluation to determine the amount to allocate to each agency.

We express our sincere gratitude to everyone who has supported us and the community. Your donation helps uninsured kids receive dental care, provides free mental health peer groups for those in need, contributes to mentorship and tutoring programs, stocks the local food shelf, and much more! You truly make a difference.
